SUPPORTING THE NEEDY AS A WAY OF CREATING PROFESSIONAL CONNECTIONS: MATHEW BRANNELLY

Building connections is probably the most important thing in your career after acquiring education and certifications. Powerful connections with people in the same industry and the wider business community , not only creates an opportunity for career growth but also provides awareness into industry trends and reliable information about career opportunities and organization processes.

Mathew Brannelly, a skilled consultant who is passionate about Not for Profit (NFP) organizations and the founder of the Captain’s Club has come up with a brilliant idea that allows people to connect with each other through sports and support disadvantaged people in Australia such as the homeless and the disabled. His combined passion for entrepreneurship, innovation and creating help for the less fortunate , inspired Mathew Brannelly to start the now three years old Captain’s Club. The club organizes various sports-themed events in different parts of Australia to profile and raise funds for particular charities including The Chappell Foundation.

While many people may not like networking because of the awkwardness that comes with meeting strangers, Captain’s Club organizes fun-filled sport events that allow business professionals and sports legends to interact informally hence making it easy to build relationships among attendees. More importantly, those who attend the Captain’s club’s events get to create professional links as well as engage in a greater purpose of supporting various Australian charities that work towards alleviating homelessness among youths, providing food, and charities that focus on children, family, sports, and homelessness. Greg Chappell who is a former and celebrated Australian cricketer has graced several events organized by the Captain’s Club , which other sports icons such as Wayne Bennett, Carl Rackemann, and Pat Rafter also attended. Captain’s Club is a social enterprise hosting unique sports-themed events across Australia, to raise funds for, and profile, selected charities including The Chappell Foundation and the Aussie Athlete Fund.

Founded in 2017, The Captain’s Club encourages those with a desire to unite as a community, and give back, in support of charities assisting Australian families facing unique challenges, from youth homelessness to disabilities and our future sporting greats.

Held at various locations around Australia, The Captain’s Club’s special events are an opportunity for business people and sporting icons to connect with admirable and like-minded professionals, learn from each other, be inspired, and inspire others, while giving back to the community.
